We’ve been seeing this for a long, long time, and from many different directions. “Russia,” they tell us, “is the problem. Putin is ‘Gog’ and he and his evil minions will invade Israel and begin the Tribulation Period.” Have we been lied to … again?
I’ve been reading the book of Jubilees and there’s a section discussing the distribution of land among the sons of Noah. This graphic shows that the land we now call “Russia” actually was divided between Japheth and Shem. Semitic people had the eastern portion, and descendants of Japheth had the west. Of particular interest to me is that the “seat of power” for Magog was NOT in Russia, but rather in western Europe. If you are a “son of Issachar” (1 Chron. 12:32) and understand the times in which we live, you may know the truth behind our government’s false narrative. The truth is that Mr. Putin has been re-building Russia from the mess left by Stalin, Gorbachev and Yeltsin, their disastrous adventure in Communism and national legally-enforced atheism. The U.S. and its NATO allies broke promises to Mr. Putin and created an existential threat to Russia. Russia wanted Ukraine to be a politically neutral western neighbor, peaceful and prosperous. The west wanted Ukraine as a staging area for military action against Russia, with a stated goal of collapsing the Russian government and carving up Russia into several smaller nation-states that could be managed by the West.
The Adversary (very possibly a prince demon named Mastêmâ) is behind this scheme, and has been putting the pieces in place for a long time. It’s a false hope, based on a narrative of lies. Putin and Russia do not have “empire-building” on their agenda. Rather, Putin seems intent on cleaning up the moral environment in his own country, establishing an HONEST currency to replace the corrupt fiat U.S. system, forgiving debts (essentially uncollectable anyway) from African countries and helping them to escape the neo-colonialism of western banking systems, and basically being a good neighbor in the international community.
A little digging confirms this, and more. And yet our government and our seminary-trained church leaders generally parrot the view that “Russia is Evil,” and that Russian hordes will soon sweep into the middle east and attack the peace-loving Jews who are dwelling in the midst of the land God gave them, minding their own business and not bothering anyone.
Make no mistake and don’t be confused. Yes, there WILL be an invasion … but probably not Putin and Russia, and probably not soon. We’re used to being lied to from our government, our “trusted” medical experts, and even university professors. We’re a lot more reluctant to distrust what comes from our pulpits. But please read Matthew 24:5 carefully. It is people coming in Jesus’ name, proclaiming that Jesus is the Christ … and these proclaimers will deceive MANY.
Don’t be deceived.
