I have one more item “in the hopper” which I may complete later this week, if “later this week” there be. It’s about how professional theological clergymen and trusted church leaders have been deceptive (hopefully not intentionally) and have diverted our attention from what is truly important and eternally significant. It’s an ugly piece of work and I’m not enjoying it. But my conclusions seem inescapable. I continue to be mystified and mildly frustrated by “leadership” that continues to dismiss the critical signs of the times as if they are insignificant. OR: opine that the “real problem” is that the church is simply asleep, and we need to wake up and rise up in righteous anger and throw off the tyrannical civil rulers who are destroying our country.
I would beg to differ. I would argue that the principle of 2 Chron. 7:14 is still operative and that it’s incumbent on all of us to turn from our wicked ways, and that God has given us the political leadership we deserve. There is “sin in the camp” and God has sent us a message.
I’m asked from time to time how I think things may play out, and whether or not I have a time line, event line, or any dates. My opinion is no more valid than anyone else’s, and right now the biggest bullhorns in the eschatosphere are wielded by those convinced that the rapture will happen during these fall feasts.
I’ve looked long, hard and prayerfully at Rev. 3:10. We have a promise to be kept from the hour of trial and I have considered every possible definition I can think of for what “kept from” and “hour of trial” may mean, if other than what’s commonly understood. The only reason I question the accepted understanding is because it’s part of the narrative offered by the “prophecy experts” and I question their scholarship. But the only thing I come up with is that the “hour of trial” is the anticipated period of global misery we all see coming, and the only ways we can be “kept from” it are: 1) we die first, or 2) the rapture. Death would be a logistic challenge: the bad guys (before the Dragon gets his 42-month grant of global authority) would have to send out squads of executioners, call out and line up all the folks in the neighborhood, demand that all Christians self-identify, and then give them a choice of recantation or death. Not gonna happen.
So my conclusion, based on Bible study and the examination and rejection of every other option I can think of, is that we can expect deliverance-by-rapture any day now. And I conclude “any day now” by working back from a probable beginning of the Millennial Reign of King Jesus. I expect that event to signal the conclusion of the “agenda items” in Daniel 9:24. Six things must be completed. The foundation for completion was laid 2,000 years ago with Jesus’ fulfillment of the spring feasts. This was accomplished AFTER the “seven-weeks-and-sixty-two-weeks.”
So far, so good … theoretically. When might the items in Daniel 9:24 be completed? My conjecture is during the fall feasts at some time in the future. My current “working time-frame” is 2029, (see UPDATE below) with the Millennium beginning on Shemini Atzeret, on (or about, since there are various calendars) October 1, 2029. If that is the final day of Daniel’s 70th week, then backing up 2,550 days would take us to the beginning of the week. Day #1 would then be this coming October 8th, 18 days from today.
As you can see, there are lots of assumptions, any one of which being incorrect would break the model. The assumptions are:
- The Millennium begins immediately after Daniel 9:24 is fulfilled, in October 2029
- The Hebrew calendar in use is correct
- Daniel’s 70th week has exactly 2550 days
- We are currently on the threshold of the 70th week
In view of current events, the beginning of global judgment in the very near term seems extremely likely. I need not elaborate. If it’s as late as I think it is, then the “confirmation of the covenant” is about three weeks out. I expect that confirmation to be a post-World-War-3 event though that’s not really necessary. But you wanted my opinion, right?
That being said, I was sniffing through this blog and landed on the item I posted on October 7th of last year. I don’t recall “rapture fever” being at nearly the level then as it is now. Still, The World We’re Leaving Behind is still relevant. I hope you will read and consider what I wrote.
My expectation going forward is: rapture (perhaps this week), and then the war in Ukraine goes hot and goes global (with Chinese activity against Taiwan), the deliberate collapse of global economies, the “confirmation of the covenant” which I believe is described in Rev. 7:4, a short but intense period of global persecution against remaining Christians as the Mark of the Beast economic system is put in place, and the beginning of The Dragon’s 42-month Global Reign of Terror beginning on about December 22nd.
I’ve offered similar conjectures in the past, and have been wrong every time. You won’t be any worse off if you’re prepared for the possibility that I’m right (or very close). If HebCal is a month off, then re-read this on October 20th, adjusting all dates accordingly. If I’m right, I will see you soon!
NOTE – October 13: There is a credible calendar model that is based on the idea that Nisan 1 of any year is the first new moon after the vernal equinox. In 2029 that day would be April 13th. HebCal starts the year a month earlier. Nisan 1 on April 13, 2029 would put Shemini Atzeret on the following October 31st. Back up 2,550 days and you are at this coming November 7th. We shall see, of course.

Bottom line: rapture likely on or after Tishri 3/Sep. 17-18 2023 and confirmation of the covenant in October (along with wars, earthquakes, financial collapse and so forth). And also the “strong delusion.”
